These celebrity-made brands are not only a way for these entertainers to make a bit of extra cash but also to add something valuable to their portfolios and give back to fans.

Actor-musicians are especially good at using their clout to boost their beauty brands, as evidenced by Selena Gomez’s 2020 launch of Rare Beauty, which boasts vegan and cruelty-free makeup for those who prefer a more subtle glam. Rihanna boosted her Fenty Beauty lineup with makeup in a wide range of skin tones and is reportedly worth $2.8 billion thanks to her brand, which Cosmetify lists as the most profitable celebrity-owned beauty brand. And Lady Gaga has her Haus Labs brand, which features clean makeup that’s infused with skincare.

Other celebrities are launching their own wine and food lines, such as singer Dolly Parton’s Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The country music star is also behind the country-style restaurant Dollywood Cafe and a line of wines called Dolly’s Secret Stash.

Then there are the actresses, such as Kate Hudson, who co-founded sportswear and healthy lifestyle brand Fabletics, which reportedly brought in $250 million in revenue in three years. The “Fantastic Four” actress is also the face of Honest, a home and cleaning product company that’s been around for a decade and recently settled two class-action lawsuits tied to its organic image.
